[Sanskrit: cakra]
Chakras

Chakra (cakra in Sanskrit) means “wheel” and refers to energy points in your body. They are thought to be spinning disks of energy that should stay “open” and aligned, as they correspond to bundles of nerves, major organs, and areas of our energetic body that affect our emotional and physical well-being.
There are said to be 114 different chakras in the human body, but there are seven main chakras that run along your spine. Each of these seven main chakras has a corresponding number, name, colour, specific area of the spine (from the sacrum to the crown of the head), and health focus.
When chakras are blocked energy cannot flow freely which affects your general well-being and can manifest as mental or physical issues. Reiki unblocks chakras and re-aligns imbalance allowing energy and information to flow, harmonising all aspects of the person, physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Each chakra is responsible for certain functions, feelings, and emotional states.
